The first line of the paper you cite: "A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution." I'm not sure how you can say it was only meant to be a store of value with a straight face. I don't know whether to question your sanity, your reading skills, or your integrity.
