I find buying glasses online less convenient than going to the brick and mortar shop. I need to see an optometrist anyways so while I am there I can try on glasses I like and buy everything on the spot. I buy glasses once every 3 years to update prescription. The extra cost therefore is approximately 50 bucks a year (assuming I pay 300 at shop versus 50 online). If I need an extra pair (which I have not needed) then I can consider buying online.
