The NYT article compares East Side Access and the Second Avenue Subway to the Line 14 extension project in the Paris Metro: >... while the Second Avenue Subway cost $2.5 billion a mile, the Line 14 extension is on track to cost $450 million a mile. The costs for the SAS, over 5 times more per mile than the Line 14 extension, are preposterous in this context.
