Well the other POV is that if a comment contributed positively to a thread, it would have a positive score. A negative score means that the thread would be better without the comment
- tomhoward 9y agoNot necessarily true. Unpopular comments can turn out to be correct and important. Challenging questions that are initially unpopular can spawn interesting subthreads, and comments that are initially downvoted can end up being upvoted back into positive territory once enough of the community has had a chance to have their say.
