I'm not here to defend Unicode Consortium (there's no such a thing as "Unicode people"), but disturbing as it may seem to the rest of us, any organization has its own political biases. Probably you should start a better detailed thread on the mailing list about your concerns. That would be a more appropriate forum for discussing your concerns.
