You can have both at the same time. If you want to build a SPA, go for Vue only. Build if you want to have a more traditional application and only use Vue for some views, it will work with turbolinks, you just have to use a gem to help you with the caching (turbolinks cachês the body tag to speed up the back button, and the gem clears the Vue app before the caching happens making it idempotent). Turbolinks is amazing.
