I'm taking down this post. I just posted this as a side comment to explain a sentence on my latest blog post. This wasn't meant to be #1 on HN to start a huge war on functional programming... The thoughts are not well formed enough to have a huge audience. Sorry for all the people reading this. And please, don't dig through the history...

- z3t4 9y agoNever be ashamed for learning. Sure some people will think you're an idiot, but the real idiocy is judging the person instead of his arguments. Just fuck everyone that thinks someone is worth less for having a different opinion.
- pvg 9y agoThere's nothing wrong with jotting down some thoughts about your own blog post, however half-baked. The person who screwed up here was the person who posted it on HN and then clickbaited it up by adding 'engineer from Facebook'. That's just a poopy thing to do.
- AlexCoventry 9y agoFWIW, I think you made some cogent points. I don't know why people get so upset at trenchant criticisms of beloved programming methodologies. From the outside, it often looks like Stockholm syndrome.
- baby 9y agoPlease don't refrain yourself from posting that kind of things in the future. Some people are just stupid and get offended easily. These kind of things are useful!
