I came from using Vagrant at a previous company and from my experience, Docker is just more lightweight, portable, and user friendly. Share a file/folder? Expose a port? Get an image and run a container? You can do it easily using Docker cli. You want a UI tool that makes that task even easier for you, get Kitematic. Also, Docker just has more development and maturity at this stage that it makes deployments easier.
