The best way to avoid this altogether is to start your own Internet business way before hitting 50. Why would you still want to be working for someone else at that age?
Being an employee is not the only way to earn a living, internet entrepreneurship is a very realistic alternative, and a much better life in general.

- vfc1 9y agoNo, but I think the failure rate of starting a business is deformed by the startup culture. A small business of one person plus a couple of part-time assistants is much more likely to work than a 20 person company, there's a spectrum to it and the 95% failure rate gulps everything together. What'qs the worst it can happen. You try for one year, doesn't work and back to the corporate world.
