My idea.. include with the data storage devices (5tb data on them), the complete but unassembled parts of the data reader (maybe a full computer ready to go) plus instructions on how to assemble a compatable power supply for the time it's being recovered in.. vacuum seal everything, with a packet of silica.. no air at all, moisture removed.. part by part. 1) then vacuum seal the container or 2) pack it with closed cell insulation no light, no air, no corrosion or UV damage. advantage to #2 is that it would be ruggedized for hits & transport.
