  My entire home regardless of value is protected from creditors in Florida (even if you sue me!), whereas you’re on the hook for your spouses medical bills even after their death in California (community property state). Will take my Florida chances :) (This is also why so many wealthy individuals make it their state of residence, besides no state income tax)
