I know many of you won't like that it uses Facebook comments but i chose it (for now) for a couple of reasons: 1) mainstream appeal 2) ease of integration 3) FB already has comments on some links. If people use the extension I'm thinking of Disqus as an alternative or - more longterm - a P2P solution.
- Gys 9y agoSwitching to Disqus will hardly increase the appeal for most of the same people that dislike FB. See for example these stats on Disqus: http://donw.io/post/github-comments/ http://donw.io/post/github-comments/
- trahn 9y agoInteresting link! I was thinking more from a privacy point. Easier to create a fake-Disqus account. :D
- franciscop 9y agoI made a similar project but using HN comments embeded in your website: https://comments.network/ https://comments.network/ However HN asked me to put it down and cancel it so it's discontinued now.

- trahn 9y agoyeah, might be. don't know exactly how they block it in those cases.
