As noted in this thread, the entertainment industry is almost single-handedly responsible for the draconian Copyright laws in the US. So the harm caused by consolidation can extend beyond entertainment (think software). Also, there is almost no alarm being raised by consolidation in healthcare, such as the CVS/Aetna deal.
