- epochwolf 16y agoWhy do we need to put faith and trust in authority figures? Respect and trust aren't the same. You can not trust someone and still be polite. You can not trust and cooperate.

- Tamerlin 16y agoNaturally, he neglects the other side of the coin, which is that our authority figures need to EARN that trust and faith -- he just assumes that if someone becomes a cop, they deserve it. Some of the things that went on in DC and Baltimore (I personally witnessed police breaking traffic laws more than once in Baltimore) severely undermined my faith and trust in the police.
