- DoreenMichele 9y agoIt talks about renting a place in New York for $300/mo. When I google "cheapest New York apartment," the first hit is for 16 apartments under $1000. The cheapest seems to be $838. So, it might be more like x3 the "today" figures. /quick and dirty
