- scrollaway 9y agoOr, you know, call their parents to say "I love you" before they lose the option to.
- SapphireSun 9y agoWhy not both? :D
- giggles_giggles 9y agoyou'd be too hungry to drive the jet ski
- SapphireSun 9y agoSeems unlikely. < 1% of the US population is engaged in agricultural pursuits. Distribution is about to get self driving cars.
- ferongr 9y agoHopefully not, genocidal, authoritarian regimes are not really good.

- swords 9y agoEquating socialism to genocide is a pretty tired take.
- yahxnakakxk 9y agoyeah, half the time it only results in Venezuela-like misery and rabbit starvation. takes a rare successful socialist society to spin all the way up to killing millions of its own citizens like the USSR, China, and Cambodia managed
- PhasmaFelis 9y agoSeriously, socialism does not mean what you think it does. Look up a list of socialist countries.
- saiya-jin 9y agoSocialism, and it's more hardcore sibling communism, on paper mean paradise. I mean, true real paradise on earth, star-trek like, happy thriving society where everybody has enough and strives for greater common good. In real life, it's crippling society and economy by massive inefficiency, in 100% of the cases means massive bureaucratic apparatus that serves no real purpose and just keeps growing like a cancer, and is almost always accompanied with tons of corruption. It promotes laziness, reliance on big brother state who takes care of people in case of issues (which it can only in some very specific situations, otherwise nope). I've grown up in one, seen how it damages and twists mentality of whole generations for decades, if not centuries (remains to be seen). I for sure will never, ever want to raise my children in such a system. I am currently living next to another one - France. State with amazing potential, tons of very educated, hard working people, great education system producing state of the art graduates. Yet if you compare it to its neighbor Germany, it's clear which approach works better (and Germany is quite close to socialism on its own). Massive corruption on all levels, ridiculous protections of the 'weak' (one random example - squatters in your own property that you live in, you can't just kick them out but sue for months while having no place to sleep). Various laws that feel social, heavy taxation, but all can be circumvented easily if you're rich enough. If you have naturally rich country like mentioned France (tons of free money coming in every year from tourism, continuous exploitation of 'former' colonies in Africa via shady immoral deals with corrupt politicians), even suck a fucked up system can't starve it completely of wealth, but it sure tries hard. Enemy of the true, real socialism (and of course communism) is educated middle class. That's why it's squeezed from left and right in those countries. Communism is just socialism to the extreme. And those genocidal countries were just communist countries taken to another extreme by some psychopaths
- adammunich 9y agoMaintaining a jet ski in San Francisco salt water teaches a lot of wisdom actually. Key word, maintaining.
