I had been thinking this exact same thing -- streaming music has changed my consumption habits, and I noticed that my musical tastes started trending more and more toward the "muzak" spectrum (simple beats, repetitive melodies, minimal vocals). "Chillhop" is basically the muzak of 2010s; I mean it has been for a while but its popularity seems to have surged alongside streaming music. Or maybe it's just me getting old. :)
