Last year when I called cox in California complaining about slow speed at prime time (6-9p) the customer rep told me getting a newer modem will make it faster; I told her my modem is only 3 years old; and asked her how a newer modem would make it faster, she could not answer that I think we should have a regulation that forces ISP to post the average speed of their networks at peek time everytime they advertise their theoretical network.
