So NVIDIA's drivers are good because AMD's are worse?

    That choice of terms was my frustration leaking through. Those drivers wasted 4 hours of my day yesterday, and several whole days this last month.

      Whatchya doin updating them in the first place? Pick a version, install it against dkms and forget about it.

        CUDA version compatibility, for instance. Every new release requires new series of drivers.

I think AMD has gone above and beyond, especially since 2014's above announcement. I think today's AMD are better than NVIDIA's and they are a much better company for Linux
