Font Awesome 5 Released – new icons, styles, SVG, ligatures, and more
- nkkollaw 9y agoIt sucks so badly. They made it incompatible with version 4, and removed many names that people are used to to "clean up the code". They put their needs ahead of their users', and that sucks.
- tinus_hn 9y agoI’d be happy to see it go, this stupid hack is what makes it necessary to accept web fonts. Otherwise I’d be delighted to never wait for them again.
- nkkollaw 9y agoThey are now using SVG icons as well.
- niroze 9y agoIs there data with that, or do paid customers generally not have a problem with it? Open sourcing their work is a courtesy and not a right.
- nkkollaw 9y agoI paid for it.
- shawnphoffman 9y agoPersonally, I love it. I've had an extremely pleasant experience during the Pro-backer "beta" program and look forward to additional updates. Granted, I'm using the SVG framework provided by the NPM package import only the required icons into a reusable React component. The new NPM framework supports tree-shaking so it's nice to not have to include all of the icons if I'm not even using them.
