Ask HN: Is VS Code already in decline?
Some regressions and omissions I have noticed:
1. Folded code blocks no longer show the squiggly lines indicating errors. This feature was a HUGE time saver for me in quickly noticing and zooming in on problem areas in large code files before compilation.
As it is now, I have to fully unfold code files containing thousands of lines in order to hunt down errors
2. Formatting in CSS files is no longer available
3.Search/replace within a code selection is not possible. This is a basic feature that should have been implemented long ago
4. Sometimes, intellisense does not update after code change, and I have to close and re-open VS Code before intellisense picks up on the changes.
I could go on. I am concerned because these are regressions, so I think the team is losing focus on the basic things that contributes to a good developer UX
