Do you do your best thinking when you are sitting down, staring at a monitor, or when you are pacing* around the room? I prefer standing, as it is so easy to take a step away from the computer and really concentrate on the problem at hand. I find the computer can really distract me when I need to think. * This is part of why I find whiteboards so helpful. They give me tons of space to think, both physically and mentally.
