Unlike Ray Dalio, when Bill Gates talks about something like books it never feels like he's trying to impress anyone.
It's "here are some books I really like and maybe you would too" versus "I am a genius, if you enjoy these books you might be a genius too."
- lamby 9y ago… with no Amazon affiliate link too. :)
- savanaly 9y agoOne has to admit it would feel a tad greedy for Bill Gates to be using Amazon affiliate links in his blog.
- jakamau 9y agoIf anything, it would be nice if a "library affiliate link" could exist and the Gates foundation would donate to the library if you ended up borrowing the book in physical or electronic formats.
- cheez 9y agoThere is an element of that, but Ray Dalio didn't come from wealth like Bill Gates. I'd like to hear more about what you think regarding Dalio's books.
- Hasz 9y agoTo be fair, Bill Gates doesn’t need to impress anyone. He could say “the sky is purple” and he would be as impressive an individual.
- icantdrive55 9y agoOh, I feel he still needs to impress. I still see a little boy looking for respect. As to his accomplishments; I'm sorry, but he made a good/devious business decision, and we all paid dearly for it. I never thought I would give MS another penny, but was forced to this weekend, because a relative felt they needed Word on an Apple. It bothered me giving that company 99 dollars. Really bothered me. And I don't like the way he, and Melinda spends our money in her 501c3. Why is his wife even involved in the nonprofit? Is she some non-profit guru because she married Billy? Yes--I have not forgot. He's never been my favorite person. He just a business man, who copied an operating system, and licensed it out.
