I had a few simple reasons: 1) PoE wired backhaul. 2) Way more management and configuration control. 3) Separability of routing, switching, and wireless. 4) Simple L2TP VPN endpoint support. I'm very happy with my choice, and I just installed AP's only at my folks' place over Thanksgiving. Simple remote management may be Overkill, but I'm willing to wager that the lifecycle in this gear will be much better than the once-every-18-months dance that they've been doing with extenders, routers, etc.
