Since the game show stands to lose by you getting the car, it's not an unreasonable assumption that you would only be given the choice to switch had you picked the car in the first place, especially from someone who may know about game theory but may not be an expert on American TV shows.
- OscarCunningham 9y agoOptimising excitement and therefore viewership is probably more important to them than the value of individual prizes.
- lancebeet 9y agoOf course, but deducing this on the spot if you have little or no interest in television goes far beyond the domain of the original problem.
