If your are "a wealthy coastal elite" you can already do all of those things, presumably. Since these people aren't living the liberal dream life of your little fantasy, they are presumably losing something they greatly desire when ousted from their positions of power. At the very least, they lose the opportunity to use their power to continue their victimisation of others.
