I find it's even better to bring things into a practical example that excludes terminology, even if in reality it maps directly back to it. "Imagine I give you an alphabetized list of n book titles. n could be realllly big. I have another book to add to the collection. How should I do this?" By removing the terminology, I think it lets people look at the problem as a problem instead of a terminology test.
