- wil421 9y agoThe difference in Watermelons wasn’t due to perpesctive. The fruit was bred form a weird looking spiral fruit to the juicy water filled one we have today. With pears it looks like the artist got better over time. The pear still resembles the ones I can buy today.
- mcphage 9y agoI remember reading an article (which unfortunately I can't find now) criticizing that article—that the watermelon that they show was a different cultivar, or had some other condition, which can still be found in watermelons today. So... yeah, I guess this isn't a super useful response since I can't find it again, but just, it's not as simple as all that :-)
