Spot on, but whoever is to blame the grad students shouldn't have to bear the burden unless we want a society of undereducated people.
- deadmetheny 9y agoNot having a graduate degree hardly means you're undereducated.
- Balgair 9y agoTrue, but MANY Middle and High school teaching positions require a Masters. Despite a severe shortage of 'STEM' teachers, districts have not relaxed this requirement and would be unlikely to do so even under the proposed tax bill.
- deadmetheny 9y agoAh, I was not aware of that. That's especially problematic given how low teacher salaries tend to be.
- Balgair 9y agoThey make up for it with good healthcare, pensions, and unions. You may not make much, but you'l make it to retirement. Hence the push-back against charter schools which have none, essentially.
