This is what I'm waiting for someone to explain. It's the same with blockchain, though. It's all a very neat concept, but it doesn't solve anything real-world except to power Bitcoin. Smart contracts just sound like... normal contracts. Like the ones that have been around in some form or another for millennia. Most contracts are just "if X then Y" but using legal lingo instead of code.
