- StudentStuff 9y agoSeems extremely similar, I see no reason for Amazon to build their own wheel when one is freely available for them to resell access to as a managed service.
- p0rkbelly 9y agoI don't believe so, since one of GuardDuty's key features is running analysis of CloudTrail logs...which is AWS API activity. Plus, there are many, many flowlog analysis tools out there...and Spot is only in incubation...that doesn't lend itself to being a 'prod' security tool for as many customers as AWS has.
- Thaxll 9y agoWell you don't have to configure anything with Amazon Guard Duty, plus apache spot doesn't come with any useful known data neither AWS integration. Also all AWS services are pretty much older than open source equivalent solution, apache spot probably came after AGD which was used internally for years.
