It's very true, but seems unlikely that a kid with a cool new iPhone would want to put it down. As I think James has been detailing above, it's not set up as a tug-of-war between parent and child. Both the parent and the child get value out of it e.g. the kid can see how long until mum or dad arrives to pick them up.
