I've been thinking of going to 4k for a while, just been waiting for prices to drop :) I'm currently using 2 24" dell 1080p monitors, and I have to admit the low DPI is getting to me and I want more screen real estate in general -- I can never have enough code listings open at one time :). OTOH, upgrading my home setup (which I use for side projects, etc.) will only make my work setup seem worse - they gave me 2 22" 1680x1050 monitors. I've only been here for 2 weeks and haven't been given any actual work to do yet, so I don't know how annoying that low resolution is going to be (but I'm sure it will be). Not nearly as annoying as the loudly buzzing/rattling vent and the headache-inducing blazing fluorescent tubes directly over my head, I'm sure (though, combined with the gray carpet, the gray walls, the gray ceiling, and the lack of any and all natural light, I must say, they've really nailed the office environment from "Joe vs the Volcano")...
