Very cool, I'd love to see a more scientific approach to understanding software development methodologies. What might be interesting is a metric to see how 'refactorable' a codebase is - i.e once a class is created what is the probability there would be significant changes in the future for highly tested vs untested code. Also the same metrics along a dimension of typed vs untyped languages (my hypothesis would be that unit testing would show more benefits for untyped languages like Python than .NET).
