Control VoIP server clusters with Python's asyncio

- gbtyler 9y agoEver wanted to spin up a horizontally scalable auto-dialer or roll your own twilio? With this snake controlled soft switch you can prank call the world.
- StudentStuff 9y agoAny chance it'll ever be built out to be something more, eg: FusionPBX? Just tired of running another PHP site, would love to write things in Python instead.
- gbtyler 9y agoYeah I could see it if we had some help. I'd personally rather get it integrated with an infra-as-code system first. I've been meaning to write a salt-stack module (using our other project conffs as the driver) for some time. It'd be neat to be able to manage a cluster with a proxy in front (like kamailio) and deploy super quickly to the cloud. I know there's been some talk to try the same with kubernetes as well - just need the time / manpower.
- UtahDave 9y agoNeed help with the SaltStack module?
- aviv 9y agoLook at newfies dialer, also python and solid open source project
- zackify 9y agoI’m working on a full pbx server in nodejs that will be scalable out of the box. Extendable. And with awesome docs! We started just one week ago on the sip sever side of things. https://github.com/encryption/sip https://github.com/encryption/sip
- kimi 9y agoIf you want something more ready-to-go, you can use https://www.wombatdialer.com/ https://www.wombatdialer.com/ - works with Asterisk clusters and requires no explicit programming - you just declare what you want done, and it takes care of the rest. You just feed it through an API.
- gbtyler 9y agoGetting to drive FreeSWITCH with Python's hot new features - free. Trying to market your web product on the coat tails of someone else's post on new open source software - priceless.
- kimi 9y agoFYI - not trying to market any product here. Wombat (though closed-source) is free to use for small sites / hackers - if you just want to run it with a couple of phones, or play with speech synthesis/recog, it will take way less effort for the dialing part than brewing your own. It's not free if you want to fill 500 channels, but I doubt that's what people here are going to do.
