They asked for donations and got less than six in two years. Regardless the upshot is the same: they stopped development on the Linux version due to (IMHO) perceived lack of interest. I was one of the people who purchased a Windows license as a thank you for the Linux Beta. I actually bought two: one for me and one for an aunt who kept threatening to write a book about her "traumatic" childhood. No one else in the family found it quite so traumatic as her and most of her trauma came from being exactly like her mother. I bought the license for my aunt 50% as a "So shut up and write" prompt and 50% for hopefully therapeutic purposes.
