I honestly think that physicists are trapped until they eat their peas about the Copenhagen extraneous assumption and rewrite physics to remove it. Einstein-Bohm-Bell turn out to have been the right camp, and non-locality not non-determinism is the kooky thing about quantum mechanics. And now we need to rebase ~70 years of physics. (Also, no one has explained to me why it's appropriate to incorrectly model the topology of tunneling, hence all quantum interactions by pretending things are operating in a manifold.... But that's a debate for a different day.)
