EDIT: After posting, I realized that I might argue that it would make sense to me if Murch were to argue that editing doesn't work the same in 3D. And, I expect that wouldn't be much of a surprise to most of us. If that's the case, we could be losing something and gaining other things. That is not unheard of in the history of art and technology, and something we should probably all accept.
