Seriously. I refuse to use Cortana on my Xbox One and went back to the native “Xbox” commands. The latency of cortana was atrocious and usually after all that would either reask the question or not do what Xbox would. Microsoft is really good at taking a good thing (Xbox) and making it more bloated and slower.
- Yhippa 9y agoMy pain point is that I don't know if my command was accepted or not. Also I think that mapping of voice commands to what you can do on the Xbox got reduced and is more confusing. Even on the Xbox One X the latency is still bad.
- jameshart 9y agoWait, you can go back to native 'xbox' commands? Oh wow, you can! https://www.howtogeek.com/265854/how-to-disable-hey-cortana-and-use-xbox-voice-commands-on-your-xbox-one/ https://www.howtogeek.com/265854/how-to-disable-hey-cortana-... Thanks, had no idea - assumed that when MS shipped that update the old kinect voice recognition just went away. "Xbox, turn off" and "Xbox, record that" were the two most used voice commands in our house, but "Hey cortana" never seems to respond when you call her.
