So Project Titan is not really 'dead'?
- gpmcadam 9y agoSurely, if they killed it, they would still be in a position to release any findings. Also, one could argue that given that this has been released, it probably lends more to the idea that it's dead.
- harigov 9y agoI think Apple would much rather buy an existing car company than build one from scratch. I don't see them leaving that market because there is a lot of money to be made and they want to be there everywhere in your life.
- rockinghigh 9y agoIt seems that they are following the same direction as Google's and focusing on the software and self-driving equipment as opposed to building a car from scratch.
- gehsty 9y agoI think project Titan was trying to build an actual car. Teams designing door handles and wing mirrors etc. I think Apple are now focussed on trying to build the technology that would make a self driving car. I think if they were successful in making the technology they would probably build their own car. This is more like the effort on capacitive touch screens happening before the iPhone eg let’s develop a technology and see where it takes us.
