I would suggest to be very visual.
Bring a few things:
1. A box with a lock and key
2. A cardboard box+tape
3. An adult education device + a clear plastic bag.
Put the adult education device (texas terms) inside the clear plastic bag. Put that bag in the cardboard box and seal it with tape. Put the box in the lock box. (Kind of like a Russian doll situation).
(If you're allowed to do this at all.. do it after security)
Once you're up and presenting mention:
This is the best analogy that I have: This lock box illustrates an honest attempt at protecting data. What you have in this box is your data and is potentially embarrassing. It's yours but should the public know about it?
Tell them how you and only very specialized individuals know how to open the box. Open it.
Then explain that the next layer illustrates a company that doesn't know or doesn't want to invest much on protecting the data: anyone can tear open that box.
Once you have the box torn open and the bag+item is out on display. Ask congress: This is how well Equifax protected your data. Are you going to make them pay for the FCC fine that CSPAN is going to be hit with?
