Which is the general problem with the midwest tech scene.
"Woe are we, we can't attract talent". Well, when Google's annual bonus is larger than your entire compensation offer... yeah, no shit.
- sharemywin 9y agoWhile your under 30 take the money if you can get it. After that when "your not a cultural fit for the company" anymore. They're plenty of jobs in the midwest. And you can buy 4 bedroom house 250-350k and be at work in 30 minutes.

- ktsmith 9y agoWhile there are certainly jobs in Ohio paying more than $100k/year they tend to be clustered among only half a dozen companies. That leaves very little mobility for people. This also doesn't address the fact that salary is only a portion of total compensation.
