The cost of living is a lot lower too though. I'm in Saint Louis, I have a 15-minute commute to work from a neighborhood where 2x my salary gets a 3,000-sqft+ McMansion with a big yard in a good school district.

- cgore 9y agoI write Clojure mostly (also Python when I'm unlucky.) I'm working in Creve Coeur.
- kendallpark 9y agoSt. Louis is the best kept secret of the Midwest. People have all sorts of weird ideas about what St. Louis is like based on this or that news story. Or maybe they've visited once, but I don't imagine it's an amazing tourist destination. It was great growing up there. It still catches me off guard when I have to pay admission to walk into another city's zoo/art museum/science center.
