Not just their money, but their businesses. Here in Illinois, business of all types are relocating to Indiana, Iowa, etc. The jobs go with them, even if the rich owners still reside in IL. I have many personal anecdotes confirming this trend. There’s even a political ad running now where governors of neighboring states thank the inept Illinois Assembly leadership for all the new jobs and tax base in recent years.
