I have been somewhat taken aback about the lack of preparedness to tackle thoughtfully put - if contraversial positions on this site. Let people see the data, see the arguments and decide for themselves.
The case in point about the narrative was when an iraqi youth was assaulted at a bus stop in London. The media were all over it until it emerged that the attackers were themselves a minority, and then the story just completely disappeared. So any PC narrative story will be leveraged for maximum effect, whilst the (sadly) more numerous non-PC stories will be buried.
I want to say something to balance my point. Political correctness has its place. In personal interactions, especially with people you do not know well. I try to give everyone a chance and not be prejudiced - even if I don't agree with the policy that allowed them to move here (it is similar if you have an unplanned child, not a good idea, doesn't mean you don't do the best for them).
I just cannot concede that it should be a state level policy, because this creates the situation where one set of values is imposed by the elite on others and this is not a good situation for the long term of free countries.
