Can anybody point me to a list of problems with "legacy" BIOS that UEFI fixes? My PCs have had no problem booting in the decade I've been using them. They boot windows, ubuntu, arch, basically whatever I want them to boot. What's the big problem?
- betterunix2 9y agoWell, consider the situation Blizzard is in with WoW: people who want to cheat have resorted to writing rootkits to defeat the DRM system. Locking down the bootloader will help prevent users like yourself from defeating DRM, this making the platform more secure for entertainment companies. Sorry, did you think the improvements was for users?
