I probably bought into the myth too much then. I assumed there was something about the young and fresh folk to be uninhibited, able to think outside of the box, and thus be able to come up with something that's truly refreshing (innovative?) Also, I may have imagined that there's "only so many earthshattering ideas" anyone is bound to have, so let's squeeze these out of them ("before anyone else does")? Yeah, I know, it sounds silly, when I actually write it down. They sucked me in.
