It really blows my mind that GIMP doesn't have these yet. I've been using GIMP for almost 15 years and things like adjustment layers and better tablet support are the only reasons I have to use Photoshop for any heavy or experimental work. I know with a project like GIMP your time is better spent making pull requests than making complaints, but I don't have the time and knowledge myself to contribute the features I feel are missing.
