I was pretty convinced that microtransactions were going to become super ubiquitous and solve a lot of monetization problems. Particularly in terms of press / media. I think you could make arguments that this still might be true in a long-term sense, and theres some movement in this space still, but I don't think this has panned out to be the slam-dunk hit that I thought it would be.
