NFC, Wave, Glass, semantic web, the DCI architecture; a few frameworks that I wouldn't want to speak ill of because they're not dead yet and their maintainers pop in here.
- blowski 9y agoNFC seems to be rather popular.
- sigi45 9y agoI bought my NFC Phone 3,9 Years ago, never used it. Apple is now doing something with it and it might come but it should have taken of way earlier. Right now i have already a contact less credit card and that works like a charm.
- blowski 9y agoCorrect me if I’m wrong, but don’t Apple Pay and Android Pay already use NFC?
- sigi45 9y agoThats what i meant with Apple. Android pay exists? Is it useable? Haven't seen that anywhere.
- blowski 9y agoI live in London, and both Apple Pay and Android Pay are almost ubiquitous here. I recently hired a rowboat from a guy at renting them at the side of a river in the countryside - and paid with Apple Pay. Admittedly, I’ve no idea how much either are used, and how widespread they are outside London.
- sigi45 9y agoNice, still hoping for it to arrive in germany. There was one supermarket where i was able to pay with there app (it used a 4 digit code). It was quite nice to receive the digital bon per email. It would have been easy to make automatic analysis from them but after just a few weeks, the supermarket switched brand.
- germanier 9y agoAlmost all German supermarkets actually support them. It's just the banks that don't offer it. If you make use of your EU freedoms and open an account abroad you could use Android/Apple Pay in Germany.
